Normally the best advice is to listen to your own inner voice when you want clarity or the truth and to see what it is your heart truly desires or which path to follow in life. . But at certain times in our lives we can become mired in negativity, cynicism or depression. Or our judgment is severely clouded by emotions or anger and frustration . At those times it won't help to listen to your inner voice when it is all negative self talk or a defeatism or out of control emotions. .
At these times the worst advice is to listen to yourself, instead listen to the advice that you give others. For me personally, I'm excellent at giving relationship advice since when it comes to my friends I can see things clearly, I have a lot of life experience and I want the best for my friends and their happiness. But I'm pretty bad at dealing with my own relationships die to letting my emotions get out of control or not thinking rationally and logically. .
So it's best to treat yourself as a friend who you want the best for. Look at your own situation as if you were looking from the outside. As a friend. What advice would you give to someone in your exact situation? This is probably the advice you should follow. Hopefully this advice lines up with your true dreams, passions, loves and life goals. .
Be good to yourself. Be gentle with yourself. Love yourself and forgive yourself for your mistakes. We all mess up and beating yourself up won't help. Treat yourself as your own best friend and give yourself a helping hand, a big hug and a pep talk. .
