UNDERSTANDING PLANTAR FASCIITIS! (@posturepro) .
The plantar fascia is a tough band of tissue that runs across the bottom of the foot from the heel to the toes that can sometimes become irritated🔥 . . 💡The main reason it gets irritated is because of poor foot posture/mobility and mechanics
Tight Achilles tendons, which are the tendons attaching your calf muscles to your heels, may also result in plantar fascia pain
Most treatments for this condition involve staying off your feet, over-the-counter, anti-inflammatory drugs, braces and/or foot supports. None of the above treat the CAUSE!!!!😡 . . 👣 If you want to get rid of plantar fasciitis FOREVER, it’s about changing foot habits + mechanics which is not something that arch support be able to fix
UNEVEN distribution of pressure on your feet = irritation which leads to STIFF plantar fascia 😫. Improving proprioception is a great alternative to medication or surgery. . .
Here is one exercise that will help you alleviate the fascia. Make sure to check out my other video on improving foot proprioception. Ultimately changing motor patterns is the permanent way to go! . .
1️⃣ place the ball underneath your arch and apply gentle pressure under the entire foot, running from the metatarsals to the heel . .
2️⃣ do this for two minutes on each foot . . Btw I’ll be speaking about how to change foot posture in my upcoming @posturepro class in Chicago February 15-17, 2019!!! . .
