Writing in the sky...someday it might be cursive! Then, we'll work on the calligraphy...🙃 I do believe I'm reaching the point where it doesn't matter if there's fish involved or not. (I know 2 things- 1.No matter how hard you try, you can't catch them all, and 2. Dont wade into the water without fishing it first. There are surprises in the most unlikeliest of places sometimes).
Had an interesting conversation the other day with a friend. The central premise was a question: would you rather make a GREAT cast, maybe a turbo spey with a shepherd's crook and a reach cast to a tight lie with a 3 second drift, a cast you'd pull off maybe once in 20 tries, and catch a regular old fish, nothing to write home about, or would you rather make a crappy cast and catch a bragger, a whopper, a grip and grinner? (Let's leave the crappy cast/crappy fish and great cast/Moby Dick scenarios for another discussion). I can honestly say I'd rather make the great cast, and any fish would be nothing more than the confirmation of a hunch...of course, the goal is to catch a fish, but if that was the only goal, why not baitfish, or use the spinning rod? Why, even, use the fly rod at all? Indeed, why? Something to think about...
Tight lines, everyone! Y'all be good to each other! 🙂#ncangler #lakelife #uwharries
