6 months #curlygirlmethod
4.5 months #MAPMETHOD
Yes I'm still in transition, but I'm SO happy that I stumbled into this wonderfully supportive #curlygirlcommunity
Of course I'm still transitioning so I won't claim to be full of deep knowledge. My goals are the same as 6 months ago: healthy hair, more curls, & juicy clumps.
In spring of 2017 I started wearing it #wavy exclusively. My routine: I slept on damp hair with heavy conditioner left in and in the morning I'd wake up and scrunch in some mouse on my air dried hair. Pretty low maintenance but Oh my! Sad little stringy waves! (See pic 1) I was happy with it anyway. Then Sept 2018 I began the #cgmethod
BUT missed the memo 😦 about doing a final wash with a sulphate shampoo to get all that junk out of my hair once and for all. I was determined and kept at it. A couple weeks after actually did my #finalwash
with little change yet- (See pic 2 & 3) I started to really get frustrated at the sheer amount of info out there. It can get confusing and overwhelming. There are so many great accounts to follow and every day new stuff to try. New treatments, so many differing product application methods, etc. The bowl method, ultimate hydration, Squish to condish... (ugh! Those are essentially 3 names for the same thing) Well, you get my point. And I haven't even touched on the never-ending product recommendations.... (Hey we all want to share what is working for us, I get it!) So, this is why I ended up taking the @scottmusgravehair course. #mapmethod It simplifies it all by teaching what's important. Plus Scott and our private FB group are readily available for any questions & support. So helpful! I'm only 4 months in and really excited to see my continued improvement. (Pic 4 was tonight)
Thank you all for the friendship and encouragement. I love this supportive group of ladies!
